Mission Statement
The members of the GRACE community will strive to assist members of the church family to attain a deeper relationship with the Lord and fellow Christians. This will be achieved through prayer life, love, caring for each other, the study of scripture, and service to God and each other.
To achieve this goal, we sponsor three-day weekend layman retreats, which are patterned after the description of the early church in the book of Acts (Acts 2:42-47). Layman is a person who is not a member of the clergy and does not belong to a particular profession.
The purpose of the weekend is to invite the retreatant to renew or develop a relationship with the Lord and the Church through adoration, daily prayer, development of community as a member of the body of Christ, teaching and encouraging an intellectual as well as spiritual growth that gives fruits in our daily lives, and to encourage a spirit of service. Participants experience God's love and joy through the weekend, return to their faith community with a deeper love for each other and an increased desire to become more involved in their church community. This mission is continued and enhanced by scheduled gatherings of the GRACE community, prayer groups and by evangelizing or service projects.
